Church open for reflection and remembrance

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022)

As the Nation mourns the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, St Barnabas Church, Emmer Green is open to everyone who wants to find a moment of quiet reflection. We’ve set aside space for anyone who wishes to pray, light a candle, or simply remember. A book of condolence will be open for those who would like to leave a written memory.

The church will be open from 8am until 11 am each weekday morning and from 4pm until 7pm each weekday evening. On Saturday, opening times will be from 10am until 2pm.

You may leave flowers in a special area, where they will stay until after the funeral.

Plans are also being finalised for the churches to remain open during the National Vigil, and for a memorial service at a later date.

Father, we give thanks for the life of your servant Elizabeth,
for her service to our Nation, the Commonwealth, and your Church.
We pray for her family at this sad time
and join with all those who mourn.
In your mercy
turn the darkness of death into the dawn of new life,
and the sorrow of parting into the joy of heaven;
through our Saviour, Jesus Christ

Amen

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.  John 3.16
