A funeral marks the end of a person’s life here on earth. Family and friends come together to express grief, give thanks for the life lived and commend the person into God’s keeping. These can be a small, quiet ceremony or a large occasion in a full church or chapel.
Funerals, whether in church or at a crematorium, are normally arranged through funeral directors in the first instance. You can find funeral service resources on the Church of England website.
If you have been bereaved then you may like to know more about our bereavement support group, Living with Loss. They meet on first Friday of every month from 2-3.30pm in the Parish Centre. Talk to Gillian Wilson if you’d like more information.
