Parish Communion

Our Parish Communion services are on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays of each month at 9.30am. The service lasts about an hour, with coffee afterwards. For those unable to join us in person, we offer this service online: for details see online services.

Services are a balance of bible readings, sermon, songs, communion and fellowship, with space for everyone to join in as much or as little as they like. They have a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is welcome to join in.

Children are welcome to join us for the service. There’s a play area with toys and books where there’s space for them to crawl and explore.

If you like getting involved, just let us know what you enjoy – whether it’s singing, welcoming people, reading, making tea, arranging flowers, or anything else – there will be a perfect role for you and it’s a great way to make friends.

What struck me the first time I came to a service at St Barnabas was the atmosphere. It felt as if everyone was there because they wanted to be, and not just because they felt that somehow they ought to go to church. This is important because, of course, it’s the people who are the church and not the building.
