Eco Church: see the poster below (click on the poster to see a larger version)
The Revd Dr Rachel Mash, an Environmental Coordinator for the Anglican Church of Southern Africa and one of the coordinators of the Anglican Communion Environmental Network, is one of the speakers at the forthcoming clergy conference.
Rachel is a very dynamic and inspiring speaker, and we wanted to be sure that people who weren’t coming to the clergy conference would have a chance to hear and meet her. She’s, therefore, doing a series of events around the conference as well.
One of those is in Reading, at St John’s and St Stephen’s, on Saturday, the 28th of April.
It’s a half-day (10:30 to 3:00) aimed at people who are interested in helping their church care for creation. It will start with time to share ideas and experiences, and then we’ll hear from Helen Stephens, the new Church Relations Manager for A Rocha UK, who will give us the latest updates on Eco Church. There will be a LOAF (Local, Organic, Animal-Friendly, Fairly Traded) lunch, and then Rachel will speak. We’ll conclude with worship, using some of the prayers written by/for Eco Church and the Anglican Church of Southern Africa.
