On April Fools’ day this year David Howell, from St Barnabas Church, ran the Reading Half Marathon with more than 17,000 others to raise money for many worthwhile charities. David chose The RAFT Club, which supports families with children on the autistic spectrum. Our picture shows David handing over a cheque for £1,065 to Michele Page (who founded the club) & her son, Cameron, who was diagnosed to be on the spectrum as a child. The club meets twice a month at The Avenue School, Tilehurst, where qualified play workers do crafts, cooking and other activities with the children, while the parents get time to themselves.
