On the 2nd of September, the hard working choir decided to take a break from their schedule of practices, to have an evening of relaxation and enjoyment playing skittles. We played at the Gardener’s Arms pub, which has a separate building containing the skittle alley.
In addition to the regular members of the choir, we were joined by, Adam Harper (the organist who has helped lead some services over the summer) and, a couple of the children from junior church. Alison Wood was warmly welcomed back by us all from her sabbatical for the fun.
Even though it was supposed to be a relaxing evening, there was a hint of a competitive atmosphere as everyone tried to win the individual skittles competition (eventually won by Rob Page) and then a “Ladies vs. Gentlemen” team battle (won by the men!).
Refreshed from our outing the choir will now be upping their rehearsal time to help perform more wonderful music over the Harvest and Christmas periods.
