Advent is a good time to reflect on the meaning of discipleship – what it means for each of us to be a Christian – and to consider our shared purpose and mission as members of the church.
This year, the Bishop of Oxford is encouraging churches to discuss and pray about discipleship in the light of the Beatitudes.
The Beatitudes are a self-portrait of Jesus that show us that to be more Christ-like means to become more contemplative, compassionate church and courageous.
We welcome you to come and explore this for yourself at a service of readings, music and prayers at St. Mark Church, Prince of Wales Avenue, (just off the Oxford Road) at 7pm on Saturday 2nd December. Retiring collection. Refreshments will be available.
