Notices:

‘Come and See’: Weekly small group sessions in the Parish Centre, on Mondays at 7:00pm and Tuesdays at 2:30pm throughout Lent.  Printed summaries available from the small table in the Parish Centre.

APCM.  Our Annual Parish Church Meeting is on Saturday 20th April at 10am, please put the date in your diary.  Note there is an additional meeting of parishioners at 9:30am on the same morning.

Electoral Roll. This is being reviewed in preparation for the APCM. If you are a regular worshipper please consider enrolling: ask Christine Bartlett or Revd Kevin for a form.  If you’re already on the Roll, you don’t need to do anything: Christine has the current list of names.

Food Bank Donations: Thank-you for your continued support – please note they ALWAYS need tinned goods (meat, fish, vegetables and fruit). Right now, they have more pasta and pasta sauce than they know what to do with!

Visions – a choral concert at St Barnabas: The Glass Ensemble (featuring our very own Susie Downer) is performing in church on Sunday 24th March at 4:00pm.  Tickets £12.50 in advance or £15 on the door U18s free. See flyers in church or ask Susie.

Messy Church: Sunday 24th March, 4-6pm at the Weller Centre, RG4 5NA. Food, craft, stories and songs, with donkeys in attendance too!

Eco tip: Food waste contributes more to climate change than flying: 6% of global greenhouse emissions are from food that is never eaten. That’s three times higher than those produced by the aviation industry. Think of food as a gift from God and reduce your food waste this week. There are lots of ideas on this website: www.lovefoodhatewaste.com.

Visit to Reading Council’s Recycling centre last couple of places left, 17th April (afternoon).  Organised by Christine Bartlett: speak to her ASAP if you’d like to go.

AB Walker Annual Memorial Service: this will take place in The Minster, Reading RG1 2LG, on Sunday 21st April, starting at 4:00pm. All Welcome.

Everyday Discipleship: a programme offered through the Diocesan Learning Hub, to help Christians grow confidence in how they make sense of their faith in everyday life.  A mix of online and face to face sessions over 9 weeks, click here for a short introduction and you can book onto the course here. Or ask Revd Kevin for more information.

Regular giving to St Barnabas.  If you consider St Barnabas is your home church, please support our mission and ministry. The best way is to give regularly through the Parish Giving Scheme by clicking here. Or see the ‘Giving’ page on our website. Ask Richard Cunningham (our treasurer) or Revd Kevin for further details.

Contact details:

Vicar: Revd Kevin Lovell, 01189 475214, [email protected]
